FloraCretica remains, unlike other organisations with similar aims, completely independent of commercial enterprises or political interest groups. There are no sponsored links, paid-for advertising banners or commercial activities on the website and in the organisation, nor are there corporate members.

The steering committee has also revised membership rules and regulations to the effect that there are no membership or joining fees. 

Membership and all work is voluntary, and while monetary donations towards operating costs of the website are still welcome, all other contributions are acceptable only in the form of field work, making available of information, and text and picture material for inclusion in the website.

Consequently, FloraCretica will also not pay for the inclusion of links to its website, advertising, provision of services or products (except for the operation of the website, which is financed through donations by private individuals only). All information is provided free and at no cost to members and the public, and on a first-come first-served and "when we've got the time and resources" basis.

Anders als andere Organisationen mit ähnlichen Zielen ist FloraCretica völlig unabhängig von Wirtschaftsunternehmen und politischen Interessengruppen. Es gibt in der Organisation und auf der Website keine bezahlten Links, Bannerwerbung oder andere kommerzielle Aktivitäten, noch gibt es Firmenmitgliedschaften.

Der Lenkungsausschuss hat ausserdem die Mitgliedschaftsregeln überarbeitet, so dass es keine formelle Mitgliedschaft oder Beitrittsgebühren mehr gibt. Jegliche Mitgliedschaft und Mitarbeit ist freiwillig, und obwohl Geldspenden zum Unterhalt der Website willkommen sind, werden sonstige Beiträge lediglich in der Form von Feldarbeit, Informationsbereitstellung sowie Text- und Bildmaterialbeisteuerungen für die Website akzeptiert.

Folglich bezahlt FloraCretica auch keine Links zur eigenen Website, Werbung, Dienstleistungen oder Waren (ausser Beiträge zum Betrieb der Website, der durch Spenden von Proivatpersonen finanziert wird). Alle Information wird den Mitgliedern und der Öffentlichkeit kostenlos und gebührenfrei zur Verfügung gestellt, nach dem Motto "Wer zuerst kommt, malt zuerst" und "wenn wir die Zeit und die Resourcen haben".

FloraCretica παραμένει, αντίθετα από άλλες οργανώσεις με τους παρόμοιους στόχους, απολύτως ανεξάρτητους από τις εμπορικές επιχειρήσεις ή τις πολιτικές ομάδες ενδιαφέροντος. Δεν υπάρχει καμία υποστηριγμένη σύνδεση, πληρώνω-γιατί διαφημιστικός τα εμβλήματα ή τις εμπορικές δραστηριότητες στον ιστοχώρο και στην οργάνωση, ούτε υπάρχουν εταιρικά μέλη.
Η οργανωτική επιτροπή έχει αναθεωρήσει επίσης τους κανόνες και τους κανονισμούς ιδιότητας μέλους με σκοπό δεν υπάρχει καμία ιδιότητα μέλους ή ενώνοντας αμοιβή. Η ιδιότητα μέλους και όλη η εργασία είναι εθελοντικές, και ενώ οι νομισματικές δωρεές προς τις λειτουργικές δαπάνες του ιστοχώρου είναι ακόμα ευπρόσδεκτες, όλες οι άλλες συνεισφορές είναι αποδεκτές μόνο υπό μορφή επιτόπιας έρευνας, που παρέχει των πληροφοριών, και του υλικού κειμένων και εικόνων για το συνυπολογισμό στον ιστοχώρο.
Συνεπώς, FloraCretica επίσης δεν θα πληρώσει για το συνυπολογισμό των συνδέσεων με τον ιστοχώρο, τη διαφήμιση, την παροχή του υπηρεσιών ή προϊόντων (εκτός από τη λειτουργία του ιστοχώρου, ο οποίος χρηματοδοτείται μέσω των δωρεών από τους ιδιώτες μόνο). Όλες οι πληροφορίες είναι παρεχόμενες ελεύθερες και με κανένα κόστος στα μέλη και το κοινό, και πρώτος-ερχόμενος πρώτος-εξυπηρετημένος και "όταν έχουμε τη βάση χρόνου και των πόρων".
